Plastic bottles require hundreds of years to decompose. Even then, they do not decompose completely. What is left are microscopic sized pieces called microplastics. Microplastics infiltrate our ecosystem. Microplastics are found everywhere, in our farmlands, our oceans, lakes and rivers.

While we all need to work together to lower the total amount of new plastics we create and consume, we also need to focus on recycling existing plastics into reusable products.

This is why products made from rPET fabrics (recycled water bottles) are so important. One typical size backpack will keep two dozen water bottles, and the resulting microplastics, out of landfills and out of our drinking water and food supply.

Also, rPET fabric (instead of virgin polyester) requires 80% less energy to produce; requires only a small fraction of the water needed during the manufacturing process, and reduces sulfur dioxide and carbon emissions
